Entry72 - I Remember More
Friday, August 29, 2008
Ranting about things:
I remember being elected as president of the class for the first time back in first year high. I remember clearly that they wanted three "healthy" boys to run the class and so titled the "baboy" republic. I remember how it was to shout "attention," sometimes repeating it just to get everyone's attention, and "class bow" every single school day. I remember every Wednesday or Thursday or whenever the class will go to the chapel, I would count heads just to make sure no one's gone missing so starts my habit of counting heads. I remember the second time i get elected as president, I was really happy that they trusted me. I remember the choral contests that we always work hard on but never seem to be able to win. I remember the teachers, the blames, the papers, the infringements, the gel, the late-ness, and a lot more things. I remember third year, it was getting annoying. I remember going through the same process again. i remember summer, how fun it was. I remember the nights, sometimes i regret it. Then it was fourth year, "Grand Slam!" I remember crying for the first time. I remember crying again. Then one more time and one last time.[For the record, I cried because i watched some movies and I really felt that I was going to lose all my friends after high school] I remember the final choral contest, we never won but then again we never gave up. [I am smiling right now as i remember that class that used a tape given by the school and recorded their song there. I remember how everyone at the chapel laugh when their minus-one song suddenly, out of nowhere, became a Chinese reading.] I remember the retreat. It was finally graduation, I was numb. I remember the long graduation ceremony. Then it was all over. I remember just waiting for my college years to begin. Hopeful.

Entry71 - Breathing
Thursday, August 28, 2008
Ranting about things:
No, I am not dying! :)) Contrary, I am just happy that life seems to be taking a good turn for me, and now I am able to breathe much more freely. Sometimes, if not most of the time, I get too caught up with work that I forget the things that are really important in life: my friends, my family, and my own personal time. Right now, I just let things go and not dwell on it as much as I'd like to. Maybe this is what they mean by: Get it done with and move on to the next. It may sound a bit like a soul-less bureaucratic way-of-life, but I think, for now, its the only way to a more relaxed life. Away from regret and misery.
My philosophy orals went well I think. Although I forgot what the answer on why the world is broken according to Marcel, but I think i passed it somehow. Hopefully. Anyways, no philosophy class last Tuesday and today, so it was really a big relief!
Guess what?! My blog, or this version of my blog, is turning 1 next month! Yey blog (with Rey Aguas enthusiasm!)!
I've been feeling a bit nostalgic as well these past few days. I remembered when I was a kid, I have this girl friend that draws really good and makes very detailed mazes (those that you draw on paper) that i really wanted to answer but never got a chance to do so. There was also these memories of clay made out of eraser dust and glue, kisses (the small scented bean-like thing that you buy from "over the fence") that gives birth, brace candy, gravy rice, and a lot of other small things. I remember this girl from my tutoran-days who always wanted to play mercy with me, I remember how she and her sister always fight with each other. There was also time I'd eat pancit canton at the bilyaran watching some of my katutor playing. I also remember that I have a katutor with the same name as C. Tiu (go figure who that is). I remember that I kissed girls just to go home early (my tutor was doing a bit of a chinese tradition "kanshaw" i think).

Ranting about things:
I got sick, probably the flu, and had a temperature of 38F, but amusingly it went away after 30mninutes in bed. I guess it was that 200+ pages of Marcel that I just finished reading. Anyways, time to go to bed!

Misc. Entry - On Korean Films
Friday, August 22, 2008
Ranting about things:
Asian films, specifically Korean films, is gaining popularity and building its own fan base around the world. I myself am a self-confessed (pun intended) fan-boy of such films hoping to spread the bug to as many people as I can! The following are some of the Korean films that I enjoyed.
From top to bottom:
My Sassy Girl(2nd),
100 Days with Mr. Arrogant(5th),
A Millionaire's First Love(3rd),
Virgin Snow(6th),
Perfect Couple(4th),
Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War(1st)
I rank them according to my preference with war movie "Tae Guk Gi" as the winner. But why "Tae Guk Gi"? "Tae Guk Gi" is the best war movie I have ever seen, not that I have watched a lot, but it is the best so far. The story was simple but everything about it seems to be reaching out. And both the lead character Jang Dong-Gun(Jin-Tae) and Won Bin(Jin-Seok) were brilliant in their respective portrayal of the characters, but I personally feel that Won Bin did better(actor names came from youtube.com video information, sorry if I got it wrong)! Although the movie already gave the ending away at the start of the movie, it was still able to keep the level of emotion and anxiety high; and it ended with a very hopeful and yet tragic scene(watch it so that you'll understand). Another movie I might never forget, (heck) I'm already downloading it.
All the other films follow a romantic comedy approach, except for "A Millionaire's First Love" which is also a tragedy. If you are already a fan-boy like me, you would have noticed that Koreans likes tragic movie, it seems to be the trend, but I personall don;t know why... Although, I myself like tragic movies as well.

Entry69 - On Wars
Ranting about things:
It's almost 3am on my computer clock, but I just need to let this out. If you would've asked me a couple of hours ago what i would do with the war in Mindanao if I were in charge, I would've said that I would've killed every single MILF with nukes and treat every civilian as collateral damage, you can ask my freshie and they'd say this is what I really have said. But after watching "Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War," I just could not stand the thought of war, the thought of people dying just for an ideology that they don't even know of. War is never an answer. Killing never is, has never been, and will never be.
If you are interested in watching war flicks this is a good watch. If you are looking for sensitive movie then this one is also for you. If your taste is more on tragedies, you'll like this one. If you want your hearts to be wrenched out, I promise you this would!
Ill blog more about the movie some other time. Its time for me to sleep. XD

Entry68 - The Long Weekend
Wednesday, August 20, 2008
Ranting about things:
Guess what! My supposed 4 day weekend got even better as it turned into a 5 day weekend after DOST-PAGASA declared that afternoon classes were suspended due to heavy rains. Yey! So its like my whole weekend turned to my weekday and my weekday turned into a weekend. and after the weekend, which is actually my weekdays, there will be yet another long weekend! Did you get that? SABAW :))
Weekend Roundup
Friday night was supposed to be Robi's despidida but i got so lazy to shower and even think of it! Nonetheless, my Friday night was really great! XOXO

Entry67 - Lady Marmalade
Ranting about things:
Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir
I keep hearing this line over and over again in my head yesterday as our Philosophy teacher, without any consideration of our proficiency in the language of love, reads from Descartes' Discourse. I was in a terrible state of LSS. You can even ask the guy beside me during the accounting long test that night, and he'd probably say that i was causing too much noise. Urgggghhh.... "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir." Oh, if you didn't know, those lines came from Christina Aguillera's Lady Marmalade... I think.
On another matter, MMDA finally strikes down the tricycle off the Katipunan Avenue. Starting today, all tricycles are banned from faring through Katipunan Avenue, which made the commuting students of the Ateneo and Miriam have a harder time getting to school! But, looking at the reason behind the action of the MMDA, they really have the right to ban the tricycle from Katipunan Avenue since it is a national road. But, I just hope that they made arrangement and took into consideration the opinons of the students commuting and relying on the services of the tricycles for a convenient ride to school.
Lastly, my Windows PC broke down with a very strange virus and all my files on it are gone. Among those files are my FF9 roms which is around 3gb :(, tons of marketing proposals i send companies which usually use as reference, and around 18gb of photos and music files :( Windows Suck! Big Time! I love my MAC!

Entry66 - Assets
Wednesday, August 13, 2008
Ranting about things:
Last night was supposed to be a gruesome night with accounting but it ended up as another fun night chatting with anti-depressant and some of my other friends till 1230am. I will probably never forget how AD and I talked about "assets" . From my supposed implant and her ***, it was really surprising how this topic even surfaced. We were actually talking about relationships and dream house, but how it ended up with assets was a big mystery. Nothing more to add. It was simply fun!
I also got a chance to talk with my bestfriend and the most peculiar thing happened. If you are familiar with the regular IM window ,you would notice that when the person you are talking to types something, a message "(glentq) is typing," would be appear. Apparently, the message my bestfriend got sorta goes like "brace yourself for (glentq)..." He asked me how I did it, but I am clueless. Anyways...
Katipunan traffic got worse with the new MMDA scheme, I hope it gets resolved soon. I now have to walk from the LRT station straight to Ateneo, instead of walking just up to Mini-Stop to take a trike headed for Ateneo. But the issue with the new MMDA scheme somehow has its own quirks. Last night while watching the news, some Ateneo grade shoolers where interviewed and one word can describe them. CONYO. Hahaha.
This is apparently the 80th post, and I'm happy that my blog seems to start getting more traffic! I hope it starts getting more comments as well! (I am so "what's the word?" XD) Well that's it for today, I have to study for tomorrow's Accounting LT and Theology Midterms.

Misc. Entry - Anti-Depressants 2
Sunday, August 10, 2008
The song is more of a depressant, but the lyrics did help me feel much better though!
You and Me
Witwisit Hirunwongkul
If I say that I wrote this song for you,
Would you believe me?
It might not be as well-written or beautiful
Like other songs.
I want you
To know
That a love song can't be written if you're not in love.
But for you, I can write this song so, easily
You might have heard hundreds or thousands of love songs
They might be meaningful,
But their meanings are for anyone.
When you listen
To this song,
It is written only for you.
If you understand the meaning,
Our hearts will be together, forever.
Let it be the song
On the way along
With only your and my voice
That will be together for all time.
Just like a verse that's in a poem,
"As long as you love,
You still have hope."
Every time i see your love shining in my heart, I see my destiny.
There are so many truths in our love.
In the past, I’ve spent too much time looking for the meaning of it.
But now
I know
That every time you’re near,
That if our lives are a melody, you are the lyrics that make it meaningful
And together we'd make music.
Let it be the song
On the way along
With only your and my voice
That will be together for all time.
Just like a verse that's in a poem,
"As long as you love,
You still have hope."
Every time i see your love shining in my heart, I see my destiny.
On the way along with only you and me
Is accompany by our songs.
On the way along with only you and me
With the songs sang by you and me...

Misc. Entry - Seduction Secret Series: Social Value
Tuesday, August 5, 2008
At first, I refuse to read this post by my friend, because I thought it was porn-ish. But after a lot of convincing, I finally looked at it and guess what! Its on my blog! XD So without further something (i don't know how to spell the word) here's the post.
Nobody wants a loser.
Sometimes I wonder why girls keep on falling for the guy whom everyone knows is a player. You know him, he's the guy who's constantly talking to women, and probably has a different girl for every day of the week. He changes girlfriends as often as he changes his underwear. The question now is how does he do it?
It's not that complicated. It's just social value.
Social value is how much a person is worth. By this I mean, his worth to society or the benefit that he brings when you're with that person. Don't worry, this has little or nothing to do with money. More often than not, it is a matter of who you're with, or what you do; not what you have.
Not to put women down or anything, but social value is a key tool in seduction. Generally, we are competitive, and the same goes for women. And as time change, women are no longer confined with wanting the best looking guy or the boy next door, they want security and value for their time (no malice intended).
To better illustrate social value, I'll refer to the early example of the player. He is often surrounded by women. A lot of times, he's the center of attention, the crowd pleaser or simply have a lot of female friends. As established earlier that women are now more competitive, they'd want that guy. Being surrounded by girls sends a messages. It is possible that he has something good to offer that's why he's surrounded by women. He may be the most charming and the nicest guy in the world. He could also be an ass, but they don't know that.
Don't be mistaken, social value will not make women like you better nor will it make them approach you. It's a seduction tool because it eases the initiation of contact. A person with a higher social value is more likely to command more attention than a person who is sitting in a corner drinking a glass of water. Commanding attention, will give you a chance to sell yourself, or at least show a glimpse of who you are.
So how to improve your social value? Well a good tip is surround yourself with friends, preferably women. They maybe your friends or your sister's friends or simply acquaintances but it will increase your social value, and it will help you command attention the next time you approach a woman.

Entry63 - The Love of Siam
Ranting about things:
This movie "The Love of Siam" bothered me so much for a couple of days. It was recommended to me by a certain friend saying that it was a really good movie, and i trust him since we are both in agreement most of the time which movies are great. And, I would say that this movie "The Love of Siam" is truly one movie that I would thank him for recommending to me, but hate as well. I'm alright now!
Warning Spoilers
The movie, at first glance of the CD cover, seems to be a regular teen drama, but apparently it turned out to be a gay-themed flick. But this did not bother me at all. Apparently, like "Pay It Forward" and "AI", its bittersweet ending left me hanging with so many question that I was out of my element for around three to four days. I would never forget how Tong, one of the two main character, said to Mew, the other main character, that he cannot be Mew's boyfriend but added that, that does mean that he does not love him! I really can't understand how this can be? If you love someone, why go the other way around? Shouldn't you fight for the one you love? Anyways, This was the ending of the movie, and it will be in my memory always. It's like Ryan Atwood, in OC, saying to Marissa that it was too soon for them to be getting back together. It was an ending that leaves you with a pain that don't go away easily. It makes you think. Right now, I am trying to make better relationship with my old friends, something i picked up from the movie as well, when Mew talked about loneliness. That's it i guess!
I just wish I copied and burned the CD after watching it so I can come back and watch it over and over again. :( But, I guess its better. No more crying! XD
